Fork Lift Access

Identec Census® direction sensing readers has been used to increase security and fork lift driver accountability for a major pharmaceutical client. The warehouse entrances are secured by rapid rise roller shutters which are activated by the drivers unique tag which is placed in a small receptacle mounted in the cab of the vehicle. A Census® CR1-DS direction sensing reader is installed to monitor which access point each reader interfaces to the “in house” access management system to control and log all movements of the fork lifts and the drivers “in” and “out” of the facility. The speed of access coupled with the historic log of all movements has significantly improved efficiency, accountability as well as improving security at the facility. The discreet installation using ground loops offers a robust “maintenance free” vehicle and driver identification solution.
