The ECx mullion reader is a complete Cryptag® Census® reader. It has been designed to provide a short range, low cost alternative to Identec's "Hands Free" readers. It is simple and quick to install. Supplied as standard in a black ABS housing the fixing screws are covered with a grey and blue Polycarbonate label as shown. Alternative housing and labels can be supplied contact Identec for further information.
The ECx operates with any Cryptag® Census® tag providing a typical reading range with the TC1 tags of 15cm. LED indication is provided to indicate power to the reader and that a tag is being read. A separate Green LED can be controlled externally to indicate acceptance by the management systems. The whole unit is encapsulated. Optional Buzzer facility can be added to sound when tag presented or when a battery low tag is detected.

Ordered as EC1 (EC1A - USA systems) for open 26 bit Wiegand Reader or EC2 (EC2A - USA systems) and any variant. Can be supplied with buzzer to indicate tag battery condition.
