The Cyphertag® RV1 and RVR1 readers are normally used to drive single turn loop aerials which are performing the transmit and receive functions. The configuration will always produce a symetrical transmission and reception field which can be assumed to be a sphere radiating from the aerial cable in all directions. Reducing the transmitter or receiver will have the effect of reducing the range in all directions.
The Split TX/RX option separates the transmit and receive functions enabling the detection field to be shaped. The transmit function is performed by the single loop aerial, the receive function is provided by either an AVR2 or AVR3 receiver.
The Split TX/RX solution is occasionally used to improve noise immunity as the receiver can be moved away from a noise source significantly improving the reading range of an aerial badly affected by electrical interference in the 4Mhz band.
All RV1 and RVR1 readers provide Wiegand or Clock & Data, as well as Serial output.
